As many of our clients know, GVH staff member Gayl O’Grady is responsible for what we think is one of the best “Puppy Pre-School” programmes around. After starting with us here as a receptionist, Gayl became interested in dog training and behaviour and completed the Delta Society trainers course.

Having firmly established our Puppy Pre-School courses, Gayl developed her own concept of a follow-on training programme, “Canine College”. She now runs both programmes on a permanent basis, and we never hear anything but rave reviews from participants. Some of her students will soon be applying their skills towards hopefully achieving the Canine Good Citizen award. Gayl is also involved in consulting on an individual basis with owners who have dogs with specific behavioural problems.

Now Gayl’s efforts and expertise have been recognised by others. She has been nominated for the Master Dog Breeders Association’s Best Dog Trainer of the Year 2010 Award.

The presentation evening is scheduled for March of next year, though in our eyes she’s already the biggest winner there is.

Congratulations, Gayl. It’s a very well deserved accolade, and we’re tremendously proud of you.
