Spring 2009Bali Street dogs
Our newest vet Adele is at present organising a working holiday with the Bali Street Dogs charity for the end of October. She wants to put her new skills that she has (and is) learning from being at GVH into good use with dogs that do not have the benefit of an owner to care for them. She will be helping the Indonesian vets in the Ubud (Bali) clinic, helping with the spay and neuter programme, and will also be going out on emergency calls with the charity’s ambulance. Adele is planning to take some much needed veterinary supplies with her and has organised a donation tin in reception for any spare change.
Adele is again putting her fundraising skills into good use by organising a Guessing Competition raffle to help the dogs and cats at the USPCA (Ugandan version of our RSPCA). If you remember from the Autumn issue, Adele volunteered at the USPCA clinic last year and pledged to help them as much as possible especially as they are the only animal rescue centre in Uganda. If you are interested in a raffle ticket (only $2 each) – please ask at reception.
First prize is a 2 night stay at a Vibe Hotel anywhere in Australia. The raffle will be drawn at GVH on Wed 30th September 2009.
