Spring 2009Comings and GoingsTime to bring you all up to date with some changes of personnel that have occurred at GVH over the past few months.
Arrivals:A big welcome to our new receptionists Hazel, Helena and Karren, and our new nurse Brooke. To all- may your association with the GVH family be long and happy.
Departures:We’ve sadly farewelled Natasha, our vet nurse with the smiling Irish eyes, who has wound up her working holiday and returned to the Emerald Isle. Receptionist Ro has moved on (with an almost unseemly delight) to the happy fields of retirement bliss.
Vet Karina, who came to the practice straight out of Melbourne Uni Veterinary Faculty, has moved on to do an internal medicine internship at Guelph University in chilly Canada. And a very special farewell to two of our VERY long-standing receptionists, Cheryl and Ann. Both are Gladesville locals, and seemed to personally know every person who walked through the door.
Cheryl was with the practice for over ten years. Perhaps her particular skill which will be most sorely missed is her ability to correctly identify virtually every stray dog and cat that came in, complete with its full name, address and sometimes even a phone number. It truly is a skill bordering on the paranormal. Cheryl has retired and will be spending more time with her extended family.
Ann has been with GVH for longer than most of us care to remember, and before many of us were born- in fact, since November 18th, 1985. The relationships that Ann has built up over the years with so many of you go beyond what words can express. Ann woke up one morning and it finally dawned on her that it might just be time to retire. She will be missed. We’re sure you join with us in giving our very best wishes to all departing members of our GVH team.
On a happier note, there’s one event we’re not sure how to categorise - it’s both a DEPARTURE (albeit a temporary one) and an ARRIVAL (and a very important one). Many of you have over the years come to know Jackie, one of our senior vet nurses. Jackie is a Gladesville local, who did her school work experience with GVH, started working here full-time over ten years ago, and moved on to become an intrinsic part of the practice.
We’re happy to announce that Jackie is on temporary leave from the Practice - maternity leave, that is- and that she and husband Alf safely welcomed their baby son Kai into the world on May 5th. A huge GVH “Congratulations” to all three. |
