Elisabeth Parrague

Elisabeth graduated from the University of Chile with a degree in Medical Technology in 1971 and has been the in-house medical technologist at Gladesville Vet Hospital since that year. Since 1996 Elisabeth has also undertaken the demanding role of practice manager.

 

Elisabeth graduated from the University of Chile in Santiago in 1971 with a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology majoring in Haematology and Blood Bank (human). In the same year she and her husband emigrated to Australia. After a short stint working in human pathology, Elisabeth started working at Gladesville Veterinary Hospital performing the in-house laboratory pathology. With the exception of an absence of around 5 years to commence a family in the mid-70's, Elisabeth has been a part of the team of Gladesville Veterinary Hospital ever since.

 

Elisabeth has a special interest in Cytology and in 1990 obtained a Certificate of Diagnostic Cytology from the University of Technology, Sydney. Since 1996 Elisabeth has held the dual role of Practice Manager as well as Medical Technologist. Both roles require regular attendance to courses and seminars to update laboratory skills, business development, staff management, merchandising, marketing, etc. In 1999 Elisabeth was nominated for the Employers' Federation Employee of the Year Award by the Principals of Gladesville Veterinary Hospital.
