We are committed to treating our patients with superior professional skills, compassionate hearts, gentle hands, and kindly words

Gladesville Veterinary Hospital 2008

The hospital was established on this site in 1959 by Dr Perry Manusu: our history began with a sole veterinarian practising from a converted house which also served as his family’s home. Over the years the practice grew substantially and in the mid-1970s the then partners undertook a major expansion to build one of the first purpose-built veterinary practices in Sydney. In the late 1990’s we undertook renovations of the front section of the building. Before 1999, the year of our 40th anniversary, we had grown to become the largest and one of the most experienced veterinary practices in the area. This growth has continued to this day, and in 2010 we completed a major renovation which occupied us for two and a half years. Our new premises boast state of the art facilities for both staff and patients.Over the more than fifty years of the practice’s life, the makeup of our team has evolved substantially. In addition to Perry Manusu, past partners in the practice include Harry Cooper and Bob Ratcliffe. The current three partners, Max Zuber, Pam Short and Barry Young, are supported by a team of four associate veterinarians, our combined medical technologist / practice manager Elisabeth Parrague, and a team of more than twenty veterinary nurses, receptionists, a kennel hand and a nuclear medicine technologist. Over the many decades that GVH has been servicing the community and its pets, we feel that a real family has grown at 449 Victoria Rd. We consider our clients an important part of that family, and we know that they feel the same way. Here’s to the next fifty years!
