Christmas Treats
(or any other time of the year)
We all know that Christmas means lots of yummy food, so that our four-legged friends don’t feel left out, we are including a couple of recipes for dog and cat cookies.
Remember not to overdo it with the treats or you will find yourself having to put Puss or Fido on a diet in the New Year.

Banana Carob Dog Christmas Cookies
Ingredients
1 ½ cups ripe bananas, mashed
¼ cup apple sauce
3 cups uncooked oatmeal
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ cup carob chips
Stir together all ingredients until mixed. Roll into balls the size of a small walnut. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Press flat with a fork. Pre-heat oven. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool before serving. Store in refrigerator. Makes approximately 30 cookies.
Cat’s Santa Claws Cookies
Ingredients
7 oz. Mashed sardines (2 cans, drain oil)
¼ cup dry non-fat milk
½ cup wheatgerm Thoroughly mix ingredients together. Roll into approximately 30 balls about the size of a marble. Place on cookie sheet treated with fat-free non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, about 12-15 minutes. Let cool before removing. Store soft cookies in an air-tight container in refrigerator. |
